E-Labs are condensed learning experiences for you to increase your knowledge of your Enneagram type and to put your learning into practice. Each E-lab includes more information about each type, skills for increasing your awareness, and role-plays and exercises for integrating the information. Think of them as language labs, a place to learn by doing. Pre-requisite: Enneagram Intro or equivalent.
E-Lab 1: Changing Perception
Saturday, October 9th, 1:00 to 4:30, Carmel, Stonehouse Court
The Enneagram Intro, Perception is Everything, is designed to give you an overview of the Enneagram system and an experience of the nine perceptions of reality. After this, most people say, “What do I do with this now?” Changing Perception takes you to the next step. In this lab, you learn how to identify your perceptual patterns in the moment and learn to transform reactivity and automatic behavior into creative behavior. You will learn a four-step process that will slow down your perception just enough to notice what is really going on and give you new possibilities for changing old patterns of perceiving and behaving.
E-Lab 2: Transforming Relationships
Saturday, November 6th, 1:00 to 4:30, Carmel, Stonehouse Court
Most of our life is spent trying to get along with others. The Enneagram is an invaluable tool for this. In this E-lab, we look at relationship issues endemic to each personality type and learn how to call on the “high side” of our type. Instead of trying to change the other, we learn how to take apart our own reactivity, examine where we get hooked, and relax into new ways of responding. This lab is great for couples and close friends or family members, but is just as effective if you come on your own. We will do plenty of role-plays and more practice with the four-step process.
E-lab 3: Spiritual Transformations
Saturday, September 11th, Saturday December 4th, 1:00 to 4:30, Carmel, Stonehouse Court
The Enneagram teachings are built upon nine spiritual principles. The spiritual “gift” of each type is built right into the tough places of each personality. If we think of ourselves as “diamonds in the rough” and examine our rough spots, we will discover our higher qualities. Ultimately, the Enneagram is not about our personalities or even about changing ourselves. It is about who we are beyond our personalities, our true essential nature. In this E-lab, we will look at the spiritual quality that each type possesses and learn practices that will amplify these qualities. Remember, it is not what point you live in, but how you live in your point.
