What is the Enneagram?
The Enneagram is a dynamic tool for understanding yourself and others. Based in ancient and modern spiritual systems, it has been further researched and developed by psychiatrists, psychologists, educators, consultants and counselors over the past thirty-five years. This personality system is used in business, counseling and by anyone seeking better relationships, self-understanding and community building. The Enneagram describes nine distinct ways of seeing the world. Discovering your way (your personality type) allows you to understand your deeper motivations, your patterns of feeling and behaving and those of others. |

How I teach the Enneagram
While the Enneagram is something you can learn about, it is best used as a tool to learn from. That is, bringing the information together with your daily experiences allows these teachings to come alive. They become less intellectual, more embodied and more useful. I have found that the Enneagram is best absorbed through four learning modalities: lectures and reading, listening to people's personal stories (oral tradition), self-observation practices, and group discussion. Using these modalities, my programs consist of the following: Foundation Courses Perception is Everything: An Introduction to the Enneagram The Enneagram is difficult to grasp by reading alone. This one-day class brings you into an experience of the Enneagram. Instead of talking about what the nine personality types are, you will experience them firsthand through people’s stories. You will have an opportunity to find your own type through several modalities: an assessment test; a DVD providing an overview of the system and its applications; guided meditations, music and images depicting each type; listening and sharing exercises. At the end of the day, you will receive the 60-page Field Guide to Humans, written by Frank DeLuca to help you in your further study of the Enneagram. Moving Into The Enneagram This all-day workshop will deepen your understanding of each personality type show you how to integrate this unique system into you daily life. Through experiential exercises, you will develop skills to perceive and transform your approaches to challenging patterns and interactions. Your Moving into the Enneagram Workbook will provide you with an on-going resource. Other Offerings E-Labs E-Labs are 90-minute laboratories designed to provide on-going support as you learn more about your own type and about others’. They included training in mindfulness, opportunities to get coaching on a current situation, interactive exercises, and a safe place to practice implementing your growing awareness. The Enneagram of Contemplation: The Nine Virtues The Enneagram is a map of wisdom. It allows us to see what is true, what is good and what is common in our human experience. We use many approaches to unlock this wisdom, but contemplation is often overlooked. We are not accustomed to going inside to listen. By quieting ourselves, by observing the more subtle levels within, the wisdom of the Enneagram reveals itself to us. In this series of nine meetings, we will focus on the nine virtues of the Enneagram through contemplative practice. After a brief introduction, you will be invited to sit quietly. We will close with a few minutes of dialogue to integrate the experience. This series is open to all. No prior experience of the Enneagram or of meditation is required. Transforming Relationships Most people who study of the Enneagram want to know how they can get along better with others. How do we become more proficient at reading cues from others how they are feeling, what’s motivating them and how do we become more skilled in understanding others and avoiding unnecessary conflicts? The Enneagram is one of the most useful tools we have to navigate our way through the emotional turbulence that accompanies our key relationships. We will examine the issues that each type is susceptible to, how subtypes influence our relationships, and the gifts and challenges of different couplings.
